Amnesty International Write for Rights:Want to save a life or help change the circumstances of someone who is a prisoner of conscience? Letter writing does make a difference! Just check out the poster in the Amen Corner with the Amnesty International sticker on it to read about some of the improvements made possible by letters that we sent last year. Why not join us after the service TODAY December 2nd, to write some letters during our Write for Rights letter writing event. Appeal cases will be available along with materials for letter writing. Children are also welcome to come and create their own colourful messages that day. Can’t stay today, or don’t wish to participate in the actual writing? You may wish to contribute to postage in the “Toonies for Postage” jar with the Amnesty Sticker on it. If you wish to contribute to Amnesty International, you may do so online, or using the “Other” category on your givings envelope. (Make sure your cheque is specifically made out to Amnesty International).

Blue Christmas Service will be held at John Black Memorial United Church on Tuesday, December 11th at 7pm. The ‘Blue Christmas’ tradition honours the feeling that many people have that the Christmas season is not an easy one to get through. Everyone welcome.
