a welcoming, affirming, justice-seeking congregation

Newsletters will be ready next week.

Notice of Immanuel Congregational Meeting: A meeting of the congregation will be held after worship TODAY. The purpose of this meeting is to review the Business Plan relating to the land adjacent to the church, and to consider authorizing an application for the next stage of funding from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. The Business Plan has been prepared by the EDGE Real Estate Planning Team in order to meet the requirements of the grant we were awarded by CMHC last year. Please note that this plan includes the newly-assessed market value of the land, together with three very basic drawings of the kind of affordable housing that might be built upon it. The drawings will prepare us to move on to the next phase of the process if we choose to do so. They do not tie us into a particular vision of the use of the land. Any approaches to not-for-profit operators with a potential interest in developing the land would be left to this next stage of the process. This meeting should not take longer than an hour. We hope that many of you will be able to attend.

Golspie Club meets this Thursday, March 26th at 1pm. Enjoy an afternoon of carpet bowling and tea. All seniors are welcome.

Tradition:We have had a tradition in the church for over 40 years – an Easter Morning breakfast (Apr 5th) following the early morning service (formerly called the “Sunrise Service”).

And so, we will do it again this year. A healthy breakfast of fresh fruit salad, yogurt, granola, muffins (or buns), tea and coffee. If you plan on attending, please sign the sheet posted at the Amen Corner, so the organizers have an idea of how many to expect. Thx

Male Volunteer needed for Immanuel Food Bank Duties twice a month (every second Monday) arrive at the church at 9am, help unload Winnipeg Harvest truck, sort and bag fresh produce in the kitchen and then you are free to go. If you can help please call Joyce Smyth @ 204-669-2085.
