Pre-Advent Dinner: This year’s Pre-Advent Potluck Dinner will take place on Saturday, November 28th from

5:00 to 7:00. Come and join in this time of fellowship and beginning reflection on our Advent theme, “Building the Advent Road.” You’ll find a sign-up sheet in the Amen Corner.

“Just” Christmas Event TODAY, November 15th from 1pm to 3:30 at Gordon King Memorial, 127 Cobourg Ave. This is an opportunity to shop differently, support local and global projects and purchase unique gifts. See a list of merchandise available for sale on the easel in the AMEN corner.

Book Launch on Saturday, November 21st from 2-4pm here at Immanuel. This is your invite to a cozy afternoon book launch with music, story theatre, coffee, tea and baking. Singer songwriter Sam Baardman, fiddler Susan Israel, actor Ellen Peterson will fire things up. Ellen and Bob will read “Jailbird John and the Choirs of the Creatures” from this collection of Haverluck re-tellings of biblical stories that resist the defeat of the earth. Some of the 55 coloured drawings from the book will be on display. Please see poster on bulletin board.

The Immanuel Players will be having a short meeting right after church on Nov 22nd to discuss the next play “$38,000 for a Friendly Face” Everyone and Anyone is invited to sit in. Anyone wanting a copy of the play to read, contact Glen Smyth 204-669-1198 or grsmyth and he will email you a copy.

White Gift Sunday will be on November 29, 2015. Immanuel supports a variety of Winnipeg projects by donations of money (use your offering envelope marked “White Gift”), food, children’s gifts, baby supplies and more. Please see list in the AMEN corner. Please bring these on November 29th as you are able.

L.I.T.E.’S 19th Annual Wild Blueberry Pancake Breakfast will be held on Friday, November 27th from 7-10am at the Indian and Metis Friendship Centre, 45 Robinson (at Dufferin). There will be local food, entertainment, crafters market and raffle. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased online at www.lite.mb.ca or by calling the LITE offices at 204-942-8578 or at the door.

100th CGIT Anniversary Vesper Service

A special 100th CGIT Anniversary Vesper Service is being planned for Sunday, December 6th at Harrow United Church, 955 Mulvey Avenue. All alumni are invited to participate. Please indicate your interest to participate by November 18th by either calling Cheryl McLean at (204)895-7240 or email cheryl.mac Participants will meet Sunday afternoon at Harrow United Church to rehearse, have a light supper together and then put on the service at 7:00 PM. Please feel free to share this information with other alumni. CGIT families and friends are all welcome to attend the Vesper Service at 7:00 PM. Refreshments will be served after the service.

Calling all Knitters

Do you love to knit and would like to provide mitts & hats for newcomers who are attending the 2016 Snow Trek on Feb 7, 2016? This is an event where families can participate in winter activities such as snowshoeing, cross country skiing, geocaching, etc. Mittens and hats of various sizes for adults and children are needed.
