a welcoming, affirming, justice-seeking congregation

Welcome to Advent Worship at Immanuel Today we begin our Advent journey with our initial exploration of the theme “Building the Advent Road,” and the lighting of the First Advent Flare. Many thanks to our various Advent Planners who helped to conceptualize our worship, wrote or drew for it, set up the space, made phone calls to scrounge hard hats, planned the inclusion of the children, or worried about the details. These folks include Leslie Donnelly, Lynne Strome, Pat Schulz, Arlene Gendre, Eileen Metcalfe, Jennifer Antymis, Sharon Barbour and Ann Naylor. Many thanks, also, to Eileen, Peter and the Choir for the preparation of special music related to the theme. Thanks to all who will participate in leadership in these services, and to all who are writing service content. Thanks also to the children who were at the Pre-Advent Dinner last night and helped with the decorating of the sanctuary. And finally, thanks to the congregation, for your openness to these Advent worship experiences. And now, our Advent work begins!

Pre-Advent Dinner Again this year, our Pre-Advent Dinner was a special time. To those who planned, set up the space, helped out in the kitchen, brought food to share, or just came and participated in any way, thank you. Your participation got our work of Building the Advent Road off to a fine start.
